The snake is going to corner itself. It does not know that yet.

You know it, because you have been ten years old in front of a screen watching exactly this happen, and there is a particular flavour of dread in seeing something get too good at its own game. It eats the apple. It gets longer. The board was never big enough. And your Stream Deck sits there running the whole small tragedy out, key by key, while you are on a call.

This is an animated Stream Deck screensaver, and here is the part that makes it different from every other animated screensaver on the market. Those are video loops. Somebody animated a snake once, exported it, and that same snake makes that same mistake in that same corner forever. This one is a simulation. The snake is steering for the apple in real time, growing a segment with every bite, and trying to keep out of its own way on a board that is fifteen keys wide. Some runs go long. Some corner themselves in seconds. Nothing was keyframed. The loop is a recording of a game that genuinely played out, which is why it never quite looks choreographed, because it was not.

The body is drawn as one tapered tube along the snake's path rather than a row of separate blobs, and it pinches exactly where the bezel between two keys hides it, so a line of lit keys reads as one animal instead of five green dots. The apple and the body are shaded as real spheres and cylinders under a single light, which shows off the rendering better than anything else in the pack. Eyes on the head point the way it is going. When it crashes the body flashes red and burns away head first, and a fresh three segment snake starts somewhere else.

You get three files, one for each deck, so you install the one that fits and ignore the rest: Stream Deck MK.2 and the original 15 key at 480x272, Stream Deck XL at 1024x600, and Stream Deck Plus at 800x480. The loop runs 90 seconds and the last frame is the first frame again, so there is no jump where it starts over. An illustrated step by step install guide comes with it, plus the same guide in plain text for people who would rather read than click.

What that gets you is a desk nobody else has. Everybody's Stream Deck goes dark or shows the same stock swirl. Yours plays a game to itself. On camera it is the thing chat asks about, and in person it is the thing the friend who owns three keyboards leans over to look at.

It installs in about a minute. Gear icon, Devices tab, Set Screensaver, drop the file in, click Set Animation. Instant download, so it is on your deck five minutes from now. Every animation in this pack is drawn from scratch in code by one person, and that same person answers the messages, so if something looks wrong, say so and it gets fixed.

Buy it, drop it on your deck, and let the snake make its mistake.
